Nalani Titcomb

Nalani is an amazing person and I got to know her a bit and as I read her books I love it. I beta read one of her books and I highly recommend reading any of her books. So let's get started in getting to know the lovely Nalani Titcomb

Me: What your favorite character from your books?

Nalani: I would say Taylor from Trafficking Innocence. She is a badass single mother. As a single mother myself, I can only hope to be half as badass she is.

Me: Was there a specific scene in any of your books hard to write.

Nalani: I hate HATE writing kissing/sex/sexy scenes! They are so difficult for me. I feel everything I write is awkward and blundering. I prefer suspense and flirting, but I know these days everyone wants a little sex feel and romance... so I feel obligated to incorporate it into my books.  But I'm awkward as heck doing it!

Me: Any upcoming stories you have coming out or planning?

Nalani: I'm currently writing the 2nd book for my newest "In Hanalei series" The first book, "Moonlight In Hanalei is set to be released on July 31st. But I had a dream a few weeks ago, and this amazing story popped into my head. It's a political/romance/thriller bubbling into my mind and wanting to come out. BUT it scares me a little! I have never done politics, hate politics, and I'm unsure if I can do this story justice. But the dream was amazingly wild and I haven't been able to get the story out of my mind ever since...So I'm going to give it a go once my current WIP is finished. Fingers crossed!

Me: What are some of your goals you have as a writer?

Nalani: My only goal is to get my books out there for people to enjoy of course. I'd like to make money and support myself doing what I love, but more important to me is getting my stories out there to people, and they enjoy reading them.

Me: If someone decided to become an author what would be the best advice you would give?

Nalani: Never give up, write for you and only you. Yes as an author we WANT people to love our stories, but write for you. Be true to yourself and everything else will be as it should.

Me: What do you think is the most difficult time during your writing process

Nalani: I generally know the beginning, middle, and end of my stories, but I have a hard time with all the fillers bits. Finding the in-between, bits of a story to fill a book.

Me: What inspired you to be a writer?

Nalani: I love to read! I love to fantasize, and i've always had stories floating around my head but never had the nerve to consider myself a writer/author or think i could put those stories down on paper. I was always too embarassed or scared to tell anyone that i wanted to write. That I had all these stories trying to burst out of my head! Then one day, during the insanity of COVID-19 and the isolation. I was encouraged by someone close to me to give it a try, and i finally listened.

Me: When writing a series how do you keep things fresh, for both your readers, and also yourself?

Nalani: My current WIP is the first series I've endeavored to write. I can only hope i'm doing a good job to keep it all fresh and floating for readers. I guess we'll see.
